Landmine Press (Barbell) form, muscles worked, and workout tracking

The landmine press is a single-arm press performed with one end of a barbell anchored in a landmine sleeve, driving the free end up and forward along an arc that targets the anterior deltoids, upper chest, and triceps. Lifters use it as a shoulder-friendly alternative to strict overhead pressing, since the angled bar path suits those with limited overhead mobility while still building pressing strength and scapular stability.

How to do Landmine Press (Barbell)

  1. 1Anchor one end of a barbell in a landmine attachment or corner, and hold the free end at your shoulder with one hand, standing in a staggered or square stance.
  2. 2Brace your core and squeeze your glutes so your ribs stay stacked over your pelvis.
  3. 3Exhale as you press the bar up and away until your arm is fully extended, letting your shoulder blade glide naturally around your ribcage.
  4. 4Avoid leaning back or shrugging the working shoulder toward your ear.
  5. 5Inhale as you lower the bar under control back to your shoulder, complete the set, then switch arms.
