Reps Only exercise

Toe Touch form, muscles worked, and workout tracking

The toe touch is a supine abdominal exercise in which the legs point vertically while the shoulders crunch up and the fingertips reach toward the toes, concentrating tension in the upper region of the rectus abdominis through a short, strict range. Lifters use it for direct ab work in high-rep sets because the fixed vertical legs remove hip-flexor swing and momentum, keeping every rep honest.

How to do Toe Touch

  1. 1Lie on your back and raise both legs straight up until they point toward the ceiling, feet stacked over your hips.
  2. 2Extend your arms toward your feet and press your lower back into the floor.
  3. 3Exhale as you crunch your head and shoulder blades off the ground, reaching your fingertips toward your toes.
  4. 4Reach with your ribs rather than lunging with your arms, and do not let your legs drop or drift toward your chest.
  5. 5Inhale as you lower your shoulder blades back to the floor under control, keeping your legs vertical throughout the set.
