Seated Knee Tuck form, muscles worked, and workout tracking

The seated knee tuck is a bench or floor exercise in which the torso leans back and the extended legs pull in toward the chest, working the rectus abdominis and hip flexors through simultaneous trunk and hip flexion. Lifters use it as an accessible lower-ab movement that needs no equipment beyond a bench edge, and its rhythmic open-close pattern makes it a common inclusion in high-rep core circuits.

How to do Seated Knee Tuck

  1. 1Sit on the edge of a bench or on the floor, lean your torso back slightly, grip the bench beside your hips, and extend your legs out in front of you with feet off the ground.
  2. 2Brace your core and keep your chest tall rather than slumping through your lower back.
  3. 3Exhale as you pull your knees toward your chest while leaning your torso slightly forward to meet them.
  4. 4Do not let your feet touch down or your shoulders round as your legs draw in.
  5. 5Inhale as you extend your legs back out and lean your torso away under control, keeping constant tension through the abs for every rep.
