Machine exercise

Preacher Curl (Machine) form, muscles worked, and workout tracking

The machine preacher curl isolates the biceps by stabilizing the upper arms against a slanted pad, which prevents shoulder involvement and swinging. It is commonly used to build bicep peak and mass through a controlled, full range of motion.

How to do Preacher Curl (Machine)

  1. 1Adjust the seat height so your armpits rest comfortably against the top of the pad.
  2. 2Grasp the handles with an underhand grip, fully extending your arms until the triceps are against the pad.
  3. 3Exhale and curl the handles upward by flexing your elbows, keeping your upper arms glued to the pad.
  4. 4Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement.
  5. 5Inhale and lower the weight slowly back to the starting position with full control.
